Steve is CCO and Founder at Monster Sauce, and was previously Creative Partner at VMLY&R London, Executive Creative Director of Weber Shandwick, London and a McCann Worldgroup UK & EMEA Creative Leadership Council member. He’s recognised for leading Saatchi & Saatchi Australia to be named ‘Agency of the Decade’ and has sat on both the Saatchi and Ogilvy Worldwide Creative Boards.
A highly-awarded, integrated creative leader, Steve has spent his career bringing big creative platforms to life and delivering non-traditional ideas both in and out of traditional spaces for global brands including Toyota, Google, McDonald’s, Wrigley, Dove, IBM, BBC Sounds and Roche. Named in the PRWeek’s UK Power Book for two consecutive years, his work consistently harnesses the power of brands at the intersection of culture and creativity. He believes in bringing together modern brand-building with social and earned-first thinking to drive work that grows business and has cultural impact.
Steve has create some of Australia’s most iconic campaigns, notably AAMI Insurance’s Ronda and Ketut; Toyota’s launch of the category-transforming platform ‘Nothing Soft Gets In’; Coco-Cola’s multi-award winning ‘Hug Machine’ campaign, which was inducted into the Coke Advertising Hall of Fame; and Breast Cancer Now UK’s ‘Love / Hate Relationship’ which earned a place in PRWeek’s US top six health campaigns for 2021. Recently, Steve’s ‘UNMUTE’ campaign for Unilever’s global D, E & I programme took out the top spot in the 2022/23 Global Creative Index.
When Steve does get downtime, he pretends to be an artist.
