Marcél Lácap is an award-winning creative, filmmaker and songwriter, currently serving as Creative Director at Octopus&Whale.
Since entering the industry in 2015, his work has garnered both local and international recognition across advertising and beyond. He represented the Philippines in the Cannes Young Lions competition and contributed as a Grand Jury member for the 2023 New York Festivals and the 2024 Kidlat Awards.
A proud advocate for indigenous cultures, Marcél co-leads multi-platform projects that celebrate Filipino heritage. These initiatives range from teaching indigenous youth how to vlog to helping stage the country’s largest indigenous peoples’ festival.
Dedicated to fostering young talent, he organizes university competitions in provincial areas, helping creatives outside traditional advertising hubs break into the industry.
Marcél is also the founder of TípaManik Studios, a creative collective dedicated to preserving intangible cultural heritage through films, songs, and free educational materials.
