Just ask the young talent running for the hills. In their minds, who wants to work in advertising? But behind the fractured façade of martinis and madmen, a new creative crop is forming.

As three young up-and-comers, we’ll discuss our experiences on the uphill battle to transform the status quo. From robots, to hackers, to sassy policemen—these are just some of the ideas we’ve come up with to transform and bring meaning back into what we do. Will they work? Are they profitable? We say, it doesn’t matter.

Fashion stylist turned strategic planner, Helene is a young rising planner at McCann Worldgroup. Half Chinese-Half German, she originally hails from Portland, Oregon, but now calls Shanghai her home. With a flair for risk and a penchant for vintage Levis, Helene is passionate about new creativity. It’s this passion that led her to transform strategy at McCann China by creating the region’s very first TeenHack for Coca-Cola.

Just a week before he was due to serve his country as a diplomat, Jason took a leap of faith and chose an advertising agency instead. His calling is to transform how people, brands, and organizations use social, by championing LIVE, MWG’s global methodology for social marketing. He is also transforming how the industry learns, through his leadership in the McCann Digital University and the IIDM Certified Digital Marketer Program. When not at work, teaching, blogging, or on TV interviews, he is probably out recharging on a mountain somewhere.

Shun started out his career as an illustrator before switching over to being an advertising creative. He founded McCANN MILLENNIALS, a team of over 100 like-minded innovators in APAC to transform our industry. Shun has led several projects like inventing the world's first AI creative director and a “brain-wave meditation” AI robot to push the boundaries of human creativity. Originally part of McCann Worldgroup Tokyo, Shun relocated to be based in Kuala Lumpur as their Digital CD and Head of McCann Next, the innovation initiative for Malaysian millennials.
