Kentaro loves to cross borders. In his younger years, he backpacked through over 35 countries. Not be surprised, after joining Hakuhodo in 1992 he established a unique planning and creative style that eliminates the boundaries of strategic, creative, digital, and PR and works seamlessly through the entire process.

He established Hakuhodo Kettle, a one of a kind creative agency in 2006. Truly innovative ideas can come from anywhere. For this reason, everyone at his company is familiar with every field of communication. Bubbling up and serving his clients new ideas, his goal is for Hakuhodo Kettle to set the whole world aboil.

In addition to Kettle’s Co-CEO, Kimura has also served as new role of APAC Co-CCO of Hakuhodo since April 2017. That’s why he has started traveling all over Asian countries.

Kentaro has won more than 100 awards including 8 Grand Prix in various international advertising festivals such as Cannes Lions, D&AD, One Show, Clio, LIA, ADC, ADFEST, Adstars, and Spikes Asia with Sony, Google, Shiseido, Toyota, Suntory, and other more. He has served as a member of more than 25 jury teams including Promo Jury, Titanium & Integrated Jury at Cannes, Executive Jury at New York Festivals, Promo & Direct Jury President at ADFEST and Digital & Mobile Jury President at Spikes Asia. He was the official speaker at Cannes Lions in 2013, 2014, and 2015.

Ai’s career in advertising started right out of university when joining Hakuhodo as an account executive in 2000. Her all-around basics in communication and advertising were established here through projects with major global and national clients.

She then took a brief break from Hakuhodo to lead creative campaigns and projects for global brands as a freelance account producer at Wieden and Kennedy Tokyo in 2008. Working with multi-cultural teams who constantly challenged the traditional mass media based Japanese way of advertising, her view on creativity was opened to a whole new dimension.

After finding her new love for digital/interactive creative, she is once again back at Hakuhodo since 2011, this time as a creative producer.

Along the journey, Ai has picked up numerous international and national awards including Cannes Lions, D&AD, ADFEST, Spikes Asia, Webby Awards, Yahoo! Creative Awards, and much more.

NAOKI ONO

COPYWRITER & PRODUCT DESIGNER

Representative of the Product Innovation team, “monom.” Since joining Hakuhodo, he has engaged in many product development projects while gaining experience in a wide range of creative domains such as advertising, space design, and interactive media. Outside of Hakuhodo, Naoki is the founder of the design studio “YOY.” He has held an exhibition at the Milan Salone Satellite for 6 consecutive years since 2012. His works have been sold worldwide including MoMA, and have won many domestic and international awards. He has been teaching part-time at Musashino Art University since 2015. He has received so numerous awards such as Red Dot Award (2017), Good Design Award Best 100 (2016, 2017), NYCxDESIGN Award (2016), DIA Innovation (2016), APIDA Silver (2015), Elle Deco Young Japanese Design Talent Award (2014), Design Report Award (2014), Salone Satellite Award (2014), SDA Sign Design Award Grand Prize (2014), and many others.

YUTA OKUYAMA

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Born in Tokyo in 1985. His career started in 2009 in Hakuhodo as a creative planner for TV advertising, a position unique to Japan. Using knowledge and filming techniques acquired through TV advertising, he expanded his scope to include online film contents. Since 2017 he has been the creative director of SIX, a digital engagement agency, working on emotional and engaging aspects of contents from film story design to communication story design. His online film “Gravity Cat” in 2017 for Playstation4’s software “Gravity Daze 2” won the highest number of global awards for a Japanese film, including Cannes Lions Gold, One Show Gold, Clio Gold, Clio Entertainment Grand Prize, New York Festivals Grand Prize, Spikes Grand Prize, Adstars Grand Prize, LIA Gold, and Andy Award Gold. At the young age of 32, he has already received over 80 global awards including 6 Grand Prizes.
