NO, NOT SHINY, MAKE IT REAL!CHRISTIAN GREET
With all the slick CGI enhanced feature films being pumped out at a mind blowing rate we stop and take notice of the intimate stop motion craft as shown in Kubo and the two strings.
We commence the session highlighting when and how the craft of stop motion was replaced by CGI.
Technological advances enabled CGI to become the mainstream production tool as it is able to still the hunger for content and overcome any storytelling challenge.
We showcase the economics why stop motion has become a niche art form.
Lately however perception is changing as CGI does render “much of the same” approaches. Many studios, directors and Creatives alike now demand to make the visual look real and tactile.
This session showcases how one can do this by going cold turkey and shoot stop motion, combine real miniatures with CGI, or by applying realistic texture to CGI. If you’re interested in what digital handcraft can do to make a visual that’s new, fresh and Not The Same this session explains the Cirkus way; simple and effective.
We look forward to meeting you there!
